<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high frequency induction-hardening apparatus capable of uniformly hardening the surface of a helical gear with a different diameter portion at the edge part. <P>SOLUTION: In the high frequency induction-hardening apparatus 10 for workpiece 4 with the different diameter portion 4a, a heating-conductive part 3 is allowed to face the tooth tip or dedendum of the gear part 4b of the workpiece 4 by forming an inclining angle in the range of 45-135°, and also the heating-conductive part 3 is allowed to face the different diameter portion 4a.
