PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle speed sensor that has high resolution and high vehicle-speed detection accuracy at the time of starting an electric bicycle while enabling easy and sure execution of center alignment without requiring a special tool. SOLUTION: The vehicle speed sensor 25 includes: an annular magnet holding member 26, which has a center alignment hole 28a fitted to an inner-ring lock nut (an associated component of a bearing) 22 fixed to an axle 4a and a magnet 29 formed by annularly arranging a plurality of magnetic poles 29a and is mounted to the outside in the vehicle-width direction of a spoke 19; and a sensor 27 that has a substrate 36, on which Hall ICs (detection elements) 35a, 35b are arranged, and a case 37 for storing the substrate 36 and in which the case 37 is mounted to a front fork 3 (a vehicle-body frame) such that the Hall ICs 35a, 35b face the magnet 29.
