<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the stability of a chip by a holder of an insert-detachable cutting tool used for grooving and cutting-off, thereby eliminating the possibility of edge displacement and enhancing machining efficiency of the tool and machining stability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A seat face of a chip seat 8 provided at the holder 5 and a chip-pressing face 11 of a clamp member 10 have respective first faces 8a, 11a and respective second faces 8b, 11b, which have a crossing angle of not more than 180 degrees on a side view, so that they are V-shaped on a side view. The bottom face 3 and the upper face 4 of the chip 1 together form a chevron-shape on a side view, and the clamp member 10 is provided with a slit 12 separating the first face 11a from the second face 11b of the chip-pressing face 11.
