<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monocoque disc brake for a vehicle satisfactorily supporting a pad spring while securing rigidity of a caliper body. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This disc brake includes a caliper body 3 integrally connecting a pair of action parts 3a, 3a opposedly arranged with a disc rotor 2 in between by a bridge part 3d straddling over the disc rotor 2, a friction pads 4, 5 arranged on both sides of the disc rotor 2, and a pad springs 10, 12 elastically touching the friction pads 4, 5. Ceiling openings 3n, 3o which the friction pads 4, 5 are inserted in and removed from are provided on the bridge part 3d. A pad spring locking groove 3p in a disc rotating direction continuing to a disc rotating side end part of the ceiling opening 3n is formed on an outer surface of the bridge part 3d.
