<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a software management device allowing for easier installation and uninstallation of software and allowing for legitimate use of the software without regard to license. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The software management device includes: an information processor connection interface communicable with an information processor; a short range wireless interface communicable only in a proximal location; a software medium detection means for detecting whether a software medium is present in its proximity; a detected information transmission means for transmitting information detected by the software medium detection means to the information processor; a program reception means for receiving a program from the software medium through the short range wireless interface; and a program transfer means for transferring the program received by the program reception means to the information processor.
