<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method or the like for inspecting the discharge of a functional liquid droplet discharging head, which enables accurate and efficient performance of inspection of the discharge of the functional liquid droplet discharging head. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method comprises a standard position recognition process S1 to set an image recognition means to relatively face an alignment mask M, and thereby, recognize an image of a standard impact position with the help of the alignment mask M which makes a marking of a standard impact position for an impact dot D corresponding to an inspection pattern and the image recognition means which recognizes an image of the standard impact position and an impact dot D. In addition, the method comprises an inspection discharge process S2 to form a plurality of sets of impact dots D by performing a plurality of rounds of discharges for inspection, while making a positional deviation of a functional liquid droplet discharging head 3 after setting the functional liquid droplet discharging head 3 to face a target for inspection, an impact dot recognition process S3 to recognize images of a plurality of sets of impact dots D by setting the image recognition means to relatively face the target for inspection, and an inspection process S4 to inspect the discharging performance of the functional liquid droplet discharging head 3 by comparing the standard impact position with each impact dot D, through image recognition.
