PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent white balance from being considerably disordered when performing white balance control using both an FF control scheme and an FB control scheme together. SOLUTION: A white balance control apparatus calculates a first white balance gain on the basis of first color signal information prior to amplification by a white balance gain amplifying means 106 which amplifies a color signal contained in an image signal output from an imaging element 103 in accordance with a white balance gain. Furthermore, the white balance control apparatus calculates a second white balance gain on the basis of second color signal information after amplification by the white balance gain amplifying means. Moreover, the white balance control apparatus calculates a third white balance gain by correcting the first white balance gain on the basis of white balance gain control information concerning a second white balance gain calculating means.
