The method involves loading a heating press (2) with a vehicle tire (1). The vehicle tire is vulcanized with a heating mold (7) under control of pressure or heat in the heating press. The vehicle tire is removed from the heating press. The vehicle tire is arranged in a thermally insulated container (8). Vulcanization process of the vehicle tire is continued in the insulated container. Post-vulcanization of the vehicle tire is carried out at predetermined temperature-time-profile under ambient pressure. The post-vulcanization vehicle tire is removed from the insulated container.
