<p>The present invention relates to an auto tensioner for a vehicle belt drive, wherein a piston rod that is coupled with a piston housing is inserted into a cylinder that is formed inside an outer housing filled with oil, and tension is applied to a belt by the interaction of a piston, a check valve, and a return spring which are formed at the bottom end of the piston rod. In particular, the objects of the present invention are to: improve the damping force of the auto tensioner by forming a helical groove on the outer circumference of the piston so that oil in a working chamber may flow into the cylinder through a gap between the cylinder and the helical groove; prevent leakage of the oil by interposing an O-ring between the outer housing and the piston rod; and enable a dust cover integrated with the piston housing to prevent penetration by foreign bodies, thereby making avoidance of an oil seal characteristic.</p> |
