<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly activate a catalyst, by promoting atomization of an additive for activating the catalyst, in an exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel adding valve 32 for adding fuel for regenerating a first catalyst 30, is arranged on the downstream side of a turbine 33b of a turbocharger 33 in an exhaust pipe 29 and on the upstream side of the first catalyst 30. A vortex generator 51 is arranged for taking out and supplying exhaust gas on the upstream side of the turbine 33b in the exhaust pipe 29 to the downstream side of a turbine 32b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
