<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous binder composition containing a copolymer which can be used in as many applications as possible and has excellent compatibility with as many commercial crosslinking agents as possible. <P>SOLUTION: The copolymer includes 30 to 85 wt.% of (a) a (meth)acrylic acid ester having 1 to 18C hydrocarbon group, aromatic vinyl compound and/or vinyl ester, and 5 to 45 wt.% of (b) a hydroxy-functional monomer; or 4 to 20 wt.% of (a), 4 to 15 wt.% of (b) and 0.8 to 3.0 wt.% of an acid-functional monomer. The aqueous binder composition includes: a copolymer having an acid number of 10 to 28 mg KOH/g substance based on the solids; and at least one kind of crosslinking agent selected from the group consisting of aminoplast resins, blocked polyisocyanate, polyisocyanate containing a free isocyanate group, and a mixture of polyisocyanate containing the free isocyanate group and an amino cross-linking resin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
