PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multipole liquid crystal motor that can be easily manufactured even if it is reduced in size and that can efficiently generate a torque. SOLUTION: A multipole liquid crystal motor includes a hollow cylindrical member 11, a shaft-like member 12 disposed in a hollow space 11h of the cylindrical member 11, liquid crystals LC disposed between the outer periphery of the shaft-like member 12 and the inner periphery of the cylindrical member 11, and a liquid crystal molecule rotating means that applies an electric field ef or a magnetic field to the liquid crystal molecules m of the liquid crystals LC to rotate the liquid crystal molecules m of the liquid crystals LC in a plane intersecting with the axis direction of the shaft-like member 12. The shaft-like member 12 is located in the hollow space 11h of the cylindrical member 11 so that it can rotate on the central axis 12a thereof. The liquid crystal molecule rotating means is equipped with a plurality of rotating means for generating an electric field ef or a magnetic field in a direction intersecting with the axis direction of the shaft-like member 12.
