PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid discharging apparatus which can prevent separation of dots while restricting generation of mist etc. in the case of discharging a high-viscosity liquid, and to provide a control method of the liquid discharging apparatus. SOLUTION: A drive voltage is raised more by a discharge drive pulse applied to a piezoelectric vibrator 17 on the later side in terms of time than by a discharge drive pulse applied to the piezoelectric vibrator 17 on the prior side among a plurality of discharge drive pulses (middle dot discharge drive pulses DPM1 and DPM2) for forming specified dots (large dots). Thereby a weight (inertial mass) of an ink droplet discharged later is made larger than a weight (inertial mass) of an ink droplet discharged earlier. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
