The present invention relates to a method and system for providing a distributed programming environment using distributed spaces, and a computer readable recording medium. According to one aspect of the invention, the method for processing data in the distributed programming environment comprises: a step for creating a virtual space using the resources provided by a plurality of nodes; and a step for a 1st application to read data from the virtual space or write data to the virtual space, wherein the data is mapped to a specific location on the virtual space which is decided depending on the data's attributes, and the 1st application provides a method for reading or writing data on the specific location.
