PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a final glycate-formation inhibitor easy for appropriately performing the physiology in hypertension. SOLUTION: A final glycate-formation inhibitor contains a water-extract of tanjin, a water-extract of peony root, a water-extract of cyperus rhizome or kangen granule as an effective component. This final glycate-formation inhibitor restrains formation of final glycate (AGEs) which is promoted in hypertension, alteration of superoxide dismutase (SOD), formation of active oxygen (O<SB>2</SB><SP>-</SP>) and increase of lipid peroxides, and also restrains polyol route which is activated in hypertension. As a result, it appropriately performs the physiology in hypertension and restrains start and development of the complication of diabetes. The kangen granule is prepared with a specific ratio of each constituting herbal medicines; tanjin, cyperus rhizome, saussurea root, bastard saffron, peony root and cnidium rhizome (for example, 4:1:1:2:2:2 in weight ratio).
