PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information system and a disaster recovery method which can be introduced inexpensively without losing data even when a main site suffers a damage during a communication fault with a remote site. SOLUTION: The information system includes a main storage 110 and a duplicate storage 130 to which updating data are synchronously copied from the main storage 110 when the data are updated. A journal storage 140 connected to both of the main storage 110 and the duplicate storage 130 is provided, and when the communication fault occurs in a network 151 between the main storage 110 and the duplicate storage 130, the updating data are synchronously copied to the journal storage 140, the updating data stored in the journal storage 140 are semi-synchronously copied to the duplicate storage 130, and the synchronous copy destination of the updating data from the main storage 110 is returned to the duplicate storage 130 after the communication fault of the network 151 is dissolved.
