PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire degradation determining tool that easily, rapidly and non-destructively determines tire degradation, and a pneumatic tire using this tool. SOLUTION: Since the inner surface of a tire is mounted with the tire degradation determining tool 10, having a support body 11 containing a redox indicator to allow the redox indicator to change color in accordance with the amount of permeated air, the progress of tire degradation due to the permeation of air is visually checked through color change state of the redox indicator. This enables easy and rapid non-destructive determination of the tire degradation, obviating the need for examining hardening degree of the rubber using a dedicated testing apparatus.
