<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance lithium air cell by using a positive electrode having improved characteristics by composing a positive electrode or a gas diffusion type electrode only of carbon and a binder and by performing a chemical treatment on carbon to be used. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium air cell is provided with a positive electrode 1 having carbon and a binder as composing elements and an negative electrode 8 having metal lithium as a composing element, and organic electrolyte solution 10 is arranged between the positive electrode 1 and the negative electrode 8 and one of the surfaces of the positive electrode 1 contacts with the organic electrolyte solution 10, and the other surface contacts with air in the structure of the lithium air cell. A specific surface area of the carbon to be used as a composing element of the positive electrode 1 is increased to, for instance, 2,400 m<SP>2</SP>/gby alkali activation treatment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
