PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength selector which has an add/drop function and an optical path switching function and in which multiple input-multiple output is achieved. SOLUTION: A wavelength filter includes two linear optical waveguides 109 and 110 so arranged as to intersect each other, a ring-shaped optical waveguide 108 so arranged as to be optically coupled with the linear optical waveguides 109 and 110 respectively, and a heater 112 provided on the ring-shaped optical waveguide 108 for changing the effective refractive index of the ring-shaped optical waveguide 108.
