PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermally conductive molded product and a method of producing the same capable of producing a low-cost material which has a high thermal conductivity equal to or more than that of metal with a simple composition and, moreover, is light-weight like an organic synthetic resin. SOLUTION: The method for producing the thermally conductive molded product 1A comprises: a cutting process (a) of cutting carbon fibers into short fibers 2A of a prescribed length; an alignment process (b) of aligning the short fibers 2A in a press mold 10; an inflow process (c) of causing a liquid epoxy resin 3A to flow into the press mold 10 in which the short fibers 2A are aligned; a press process (d) of pressing the liquid epoxy resin 3A as well as the aligned short fibers 2A in a direction vertical to the direction where the short fibers 2A are aligned by press molds 10, 12, the liquid epoxy resin 3A being infiltrated among the short fibers and into the short fibers as bundles of monofilaments and compressed to reduce the volume occupied by the liquid epoxy resin 3A to the irreducible minimum; and a curing process (e) of curing the liquid epoxy resin 3A, thereby imparting the surface hardness and strength to the whole of the molded product.
