<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device, a display method and a program which can reproduce the luminance change in an object, when viewing the object from various angles. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The display device includes an image acquisition section for acquiring image data; an argument-dependent characteristic acquiring section for acquiring argument-dependent characteristic data, indicating the luminance of the object in the view from the plurality of different angles for the object in each of a plurality of areas included in the image data from the image data; an image-generating section for generating the image data in which the luminance of the plurality of areas becomes the luminance, when it is viewed from the same angle for each of the plurality of angles, on the basis of the argument dependent characteristic data; and a display section for displaying two or more pieces of image data, in the order of the angles.
