<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of electrolyzing an alkali metal chloride improved so as to fully prevent deterioration of an ion-exchanger in a Glauber's salt removal step, in the method of electrolyzing the alkali-metal chloride including, a saturated brine preparing step, electrolyzing step, chlorine degassing step, chlorine adsorption removal step by activated carbon or chlorine decomposition removal step by a reducing agent, and the Glauber's salt removal step using the ion-exchanger. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A chelate resin processing step 24 of diluted brine is provided between a chlorine adsorption or chlorine decomposition removal step 23 and a Glauber's salt removal step 15, in the method of electrolyzing the alkali metal chloride.
