<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frequency component analyzing device capable of enhancing accuracy in calculation of frequency component intensity by more appropriately carrying out frequency component intensity calculation when frequency component analysis of a detection parameter is performed in synchronization with rotation of an internal combustion engine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An operation parameter of the internal combustion engine is sampled at predetermined time intervals. Sampled values are converted into digital values VKNK. Sine wave component intensity DMFTS and cosine wave component intensity DMFTC corresponding to a plurality of frequency components are calculated with respect to the prescribed number of sample values based on the obtained digital values VKNK. Frequency component intensity STFT of a plurality of frequencies is calculated by eliminating offset components contained in the sine wave component intensity DMFTS and cosine wave component intensity DMFTC and utilizing the sine wave component intensity DMFTS and cosine wave component intensity DMFTC having the offset components removed.
