PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having stable charging properties and durability to mechanical and electrostatic hazards, to provide an image forming method, an apparatus therefor and a process cartridge using the same. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor includes: an intermediate layer composed of amorphous oxide including a plurality of metallic elements (e.g., the amorphous oxide including the following three elements: indium, zinc and gallium shown in Fig.4); an electron injecting layer; and a charge generating layer (e.g., a layer containing titanyl phthalocyanine as a charge generating material); and a hole transport layer, which are sequentially provided on a conductive support.
