The invention provides a capacitor comprising a dielectric made of a glass layer (16, 18) having an alkali oxide content of no more than 2 percent by weight and a thickness of no more than 50 µm, comprising at least two metal layers that are separated by the glass layer. The glass layer is preferably produced according to a down-draw method or overflow down-draw fusion method.
