The invention relates to a drive unit for a gearbox, especially for adjusting devices of motor vehicles. The inventive unit comprises a housing (18) and a drive wheel (26) that engages with a driven wheel (32) by means of a toothing (30). The drive wheel (26) and/or the driven wheel (32) is/are provided with at least one dimension-stabilising protuberance (44) that engages with a counter-protuberance (46) which is arranged in an intermediate component (42) that is rigid in the radial direction.
