<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine capable of restricting deterioration of the emission control ratio of an exhaust emission control catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine includes: an exhaust emission control catalyst 127 provided in an exhaust passage 125 of an internal combustion engine EG; an adsorbent 127 provided on an upstream side of the exhaust emission control catalyst in the exhaust passage to adsorb unburned gas; oxygen supply means 135 and 136 for supplying gas including oxygen to the upstream of the adsorbent in the exhaust passage; a desorbing speed detecting means 113 for detecting the desorbing speed of the unburned gas desorbing from the adsorbent; and a control means 11 for controlling the increase rate of the quantity of the gas including oxygen supplied by the oxygen supply means in response to the desorbing speed detected by the desorbing speed detecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
