<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detection apparatus accurately detecting a target of low reflection intensity as a moving object. <P>SOLUTION: In the object detection apparatus 1, a millimeter wave radar 2 irradiates electromagnetic waves right and left sidewards, and detects a plurality of targets from the reflection intensity distribution thereof; and a radar ECU 1 determines the presence or absence of lanes adjacent to the right and left sides of a lane where its own vehicle travels. Under extraction conditions according to the presence or absence of the adjacent lane, the moving object is extracted from the detected targets on the right and left sides, respectively. The moving object extraction conditions are changed depending on the presence or absence of the adjacent lane, thereby accurately extracting a two-wheel drive vehicle whose reflection intensity is relatively low or a four-wheel drive vehicle whose reflection intensity is high. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
