<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stably operable electron emission element of high electron emission efficiency, by simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: The electron emission element includes an insulating layer having side faces, a recess formed on the side face of the insulating layer, a gate electrode arranged in an upper side of the recess, and a wedge-shaped emitter arranged in the periphery of a lower side of the recess and having the first sloped face in a recess side and the second sloped face in a side opposite to the recess. A lower end of the first sloped face of the emitter is made to intrude into the recess, and both the first sloped face and the second sloped face of the emitter are inclined toward an outside of the recess. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
