PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain potential by electrification of a photoreceptor drum at a predetermined value even when staining of a surface of an electrifying roller progresses. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: the photoreceptor drum 1; the electrifying roller 2 that electrifies the surface of the photoreceptor drum 1; an electrifying power supply 4 that applies predetermined electrifying bias voltage to the electrifying roller 2; a detection means 5 that detects the change of conductivity caused by the staining of the surface of the electrifying roller 2; and a control means 10 that calculates the correction valueΔV of the electrifying bias voltage from the change of conductivity detected by the detection means, and corrects the electrifying bias voltage of the electrifying power supply 4 on the basis of the obtained correction value.
