PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spectrometer capable of optically imaging a spectrum of request without distortion, while having a resolving power coincident with a CCD array linear geometry, and maintaining a proper CCD spatial resolving power. SOLUTION: The high resolution aberration corrected concentric spectrometer 110 includes a convex diffraction grating 100 having a plurality of nonparallel grooves. The plurality of grooves of this convex diffraction grating 100 provide correction for field aberrations. The utilization of the convex diffraction grating 100 enables the spectrometer 110 to provide highly accurate spectral imaging with greatly improved resolving power. By utilizing the convex diffraction grating 100 having the plurality of nonparallel grooves, the spectrometer 110 is functional for a large number of applications. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
