PURPOSE: A ringtone providing system for an additional service of mobile communication and a method thereof are provided to enable a user of a portable terminal to store ringtones through a download process, thereby enabling the user to set a ringtone of a desired section as a receiving ringtone. CONSTITUTION: A digital spectrum sampler processes the size and the frequency band of a ringtone. The digital spectrum sampler compresses the processed bell sound source. A digital sound source system(30) uploads, deletes, or manages ringtone files made in a computer system(10). A ringtone server(40) of a mobile communication provider selectively provides the ringtone files. |
