PURPOSE: An amphiphilic porphyrin derivative is provided to ensure high solubility in an aqueous solution and to prepare micelle of nano size. CONSTITUTION: A porphyrin derivative is denoted by chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, M is H_2 or metal atom; R1, R2, and R3 are H or OR_5; and R4 is Dendron formed of oligoethylene. The porphyrin derivative of chemical formula 2 is prepared by reaction formula 1. A compound of chemical formula 4 is prepared by reaction formula 2. A compound of chemical formula 5 is prepared by reaction formula 3. A MRI contrast agent contains porphyrin derivative.
