PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous detection of a detected object caused by the change of an image.

SOLUTION: A plurality of pixel circuits P display images in a display area A. A plurality of detecting circuits Q are arranged in the display area A to output detection signals IS corresponding to the presence/absence of detected objects. A data generating section 62 generates detection data sequentially from the detection signals IS output from the plurality of detecting circuits Q. A storage circuit 70 stores reference data Dref compared with the detection data D. A determining section 68 determines the presence/absence of the detected objects by comparison between the detection data D and reference data Dref. An image change detecting section 64 detects the change of images displayed in the display area A. A data updating section 66 updates the reference data Dref stored in the storage circuit 70 to the detection data D after the change when the image change detecting section 64 detects the change of images.
