<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bacterial strain especially accommodating to companion animals, selected by its probiotic property and survival potential after treatment, and available by isolating from a natural intestinal microbial flora existing in an upper part of GI (gastrointestinal organ of mammals) and to provide a composition suitable for using the bacterial strains. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided a strain of lactic acid bacteria of the species Bifidobacteria pseudolongum obtainable by isolating from a resected and washed canine gastrointestinal tract having probiotic activity in animals, methods of use, and compositions comprising the Bifidobacteria pseudolongum. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
