<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector in which areas of opposed portions of a coupled receptacle body and a plug body which are coupled to each other are utilized more effectively and a large number of contact members can be arranged. <P>SOLUTION: Outer connection openings 18, 19 and inner connection openings 21a, 21b, 22a, 22b are formed at a receptacle body 10. Contact portion 32d of outer receptacle contact members are located in the outer connection openings 18, 19. Contact portions 42d of inner receptacle contact members are located in the inner connection openings 21a, 21b, 22a, 22b. A plug body 50 is provided with an outer plug contact member opposed to the outer receptacle contact member and an inner plug contact member opposed to the inner receptacle contact member.
