PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data structure of an encrypted media file for allowing file sectioning/coupling in an encrypted state.

SOLUTION: Information showing the position and size of media data in the encrypted media file, and information about a reproduction time of the media data are recorded in plain text data in a first box and a third box, while encrypted media data are recorded in a second box. Information showing the box size of the first, second and third boxes and information to distinguish a box are recorded in plain text data.
