PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel support, and a method of producing the same. SOLUTION: The method of producing the support includes a process of mixing and kneading a support-component raw material, a solid binder, a liquid binder, and an aqueous dilute nitric acid solution. The support-component raw material includes aluminum hydroxide, pseudo-boehmite,γalumina, powdered silica gel, powdery natural silica, zeolite, or the like. The solid binder includes Kanbai (Japanese apricot) powder, pregelatinized starch (potato), pregelatinized starch (tapioca), glue alga, crystalline cellulose, powdered cellulose, or the like. The liquid binder includes colloidal alumina, colloidal silica, polyvinyl alcohol, or the like. The nitric acid concentration in the aqueous dilute nitric acid solution is in a range of 0.5 to 1.5 mass% and the chlorine concentration therein is in a range of not higher than 100 ppm. Wood powder, charcoal powder, rice powder, wheat flour, barley flour, buckwheat flour, corn, or the like is blended as a combustible agent. The support has a pore volume in a range of 0.52 to 0.84 cc/g and crushing strength in a range of 2.2 to 11.0 kgf/particle. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
