<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory control device for controlling an SDRAM so as to reduce the power consumption of the SDRAM and a system including the memory control device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A display control part 9 includes: an SELF period register 91 for holding information showing a period to shift an SDRAM 4 to a self-refresh mode or a power-down mode; and a timer 92 for counting term since the start of the fly-back period of an LED 10 until the lapse of the period when the information is held in the SELF period register 91, and for instructing the SDRAM 4 to shift to the self-refresh mode or the power-down mode. Also, a memory control part 1 includes an SDRAM command control part 11 for shifting the SDRAM 4 to the self-refresh mode or the power-down mode according to an instruction from the timer 92.
