PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a sense of anxiety or discomfort in an e-mail transmitter even when he/she does not recognize that a user of a mobile terminal which has received the e-mail is under the conditions where transmission of reply e-mail is impossible. SOLUTION: The mobile terminal 1 includes a transmitting/receiving part 10 which receives e-mail from a transmitter; a state determination part 11 which obtians, upon receipt of the e-mail by the transmitting/receiving part 10, information showing a user state, and determines whether e-mail reply is possible based on the information showing the user state; an e-mail formation part 16 which forms an e-mail having a predetermined content when the state determination part 11 determines that e-mail reply is impossible; and an e-mail transmitting means which transmits the mail formed by the e-mail formation part 16 to the transmitter. According to this, upon receipt of e-mail, whether e-mail reply is possible is determined based on the user state, and when it is determined that e-mail reply is impossible, the e-mail having the predetermined content can be automatically returned to the transmitter.
