<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an image forming apparatus configured to predict a remaining usable period in accordance with a type of a consumable article; a consumable article management system; and a consumable article management program. <P>SOLUTION: Whether the type of the consumable article used for image forming processing is a type to which a prediction mechanism for predicting the remaining usable period of the consumable article corresponds is collated by a consumable article collating part 101. When it is the consumable article of the type to which the prediction mechanism corresponds, the prediction processing of the remaining usable period is performed by the prediction mechanism of a prediction processing part 102. When it is the consumable article of the type to which the prediction mechanism does not correspond, the prediction mechanism is made ineffective by a prediction processing switching part 105, and consumable article information including use history information of the consumable article is created by a consumable article information creation part 103 and transmitted to a prediction server 200.
