PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a USB mass storage communication restriction method for certainly prohibiting autorun of a USB mass storage, and certainly preventing writing of a virus into the USB mass storage from a computer. SOLUTION: The USB mass storage communication restriction method is a communication restriction method with the USB mass storage executed by the computer 10 when performing communication between the computer 10 and the USB mass storage 20 connected to the computer 10. The USB mass storage restriction method includes: a USB communication establishment control step S130 executed by an upper program, of establishing the communication between the computer 10 and the USB mass storage 20; and a writing restriction step S145 of adding a writing prohibition flag to a mode parameter list transmitted to the upper program from the USB mass storage 20.
