<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that test patterns are not printed on a proper position on sheets and highly accurate alignment adjustment cannot be carried out when positional displacement or skew travel is generated in the sheets when printing the test patterns. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A conveying information calculating section 92 calculates out the conveying information 98j of the sheet P when printing the test pattern and storing the same in the recording section 98. Further, a reception section 97 accepts measuring position information 97j of the test pattern and a head position adjusting section 94 adjust the head units 10, 20 to the positions where the head units 10, 20 should be positioned based on the accepted measuring position information 97j of the test pattern and the recorded conveying information 98j of the sheet P.
