摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the positional deviation of beams with a higher reliability, even when some beam position monitors are out of order. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The beam positional deviation detector for a particle beam therapeutic system includes the beam position monitors for detecting the positional deviation of beams for each of a plurality of irradiation courses where the beams are introduced into a plurality of irradiation chambers from a synchrotron. The beam position monitors are installed in plurality of numbers in each of the irradiation courses and measure the positional deviations of the beams for each set of beam position monitors in each of the irradiation courses to determine the positional deviation of the beams. Thus, the positional deviation of the beams in the irradiation course involved is determined separately based on the results of the determination with the plurality of beam position monitors in each of the irradiation courses.
