PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive method for dismantling a goliath crane, which makes a risk low, which is excellent in rapidity, and which is not attended with seawater pollution, etc. SOLUTION: Characteristically, a temporary beam 30 is laid between legs in the intermediate height positions of the two legs 12 and 14 (in a step of installing the temporary beam); after the installation of the temporary beam 30, a girder portion 16 is cut and removed (in a step of removing the girder portion); and the two remaining legs are removed (in a step of removing the leg). In this constitution, firstly, the temporary beam 30 is installed; the two legs 12 and 14 are connected not only by the girder portion 16 but also by a portion of the temporary beam 30; thus, even in the cut state of the girder portion 16, the individually-standing state of the two legs 12 and 14 is avoided; and the girder portion 16 can be cut and removed in a stable state.
