<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alarm device which quickly reports abnormalities to the outside, when the abnormality occurs with a user of toilet, such as, a patient or an aged person inside a toilet compartment, and which is low-cost and simple, and attaches easily, even to an existing toilet compartment. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The alarm device includes a lock for locking and unlocking the door of a compartment 9; a timer provided with an output means for starting the time measurement of a timer, when the locking of the lock is detected, resetting the timer to an initial state when the unlocking of the lock is detected, and outputting signals to an alarm when the set time elapses, without having to detect unlocking of the lock; and the alarm for issuing alarm sound and/or alarm light to the outside of the compartment 9.
