A power cutter including a two stroke internal combustion engine mounted within a housing and a carburetor for providing aerated fuel for the engine. The carburetor is capable of operating in at least two modes of operation, a first mode when the engine is cold and a second mode when the engine is hot. A temperature sensor is mounted on the engine and provides an engine controller with a signal which is a function of the temperature of the engine; the carburetor comprising an electrically controlled cold start mechanism which switches the carburetor between its two modes of operation, wherein, when the electronic controller determines that the engine is cold, it provides an electrical signal to the electrically controlled cold start mechanism to cause it to change the mode of operation of the carburetor to its first mode.
