The invention relates to a method for applying glue (9) to components of workpieces (3) to produce sacks or bags, preferably made of paper. In said method, glue is applied to the components of the workpieces (3) by means of a format roller or plate roller (5), the glue is transferred from a glue application roller (8) to the format roller or plate roller (5), said glue application roller (8) removing the glue from a glue feeding device (10, 12, 19). The layer thickness of the glue is influenced by a metering roller (11) that is associated with the glue application roller (8), the circumferential speeds of said rollers (5, 8, 11) being independently adjustable. The ratio between the circumferential speeds of the glue application roller (8) and the metering roller (11) and/or the ratio between the circumferential speeds of the glue application roller (8) and the format roller or plate roller (5) is adjusted in accordance with properties of the glue that is applied to the workpieces (3). |
