PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, in a bend orientation type liquid crystal display device, it is needed to make the whole of all pixels parts to be transferred from spray orientation states to bend orientation states uniformly before starting a normal display operation, but in a conventional method, since transition is not generated or even though transition is generated, an extremely long transition time is needed even applying a simple AC voltage to the pixel parts, display defects are apt to be generated due to defects of orientation. SOLUTION: This driving method is driving method of a liquid crystal display device in which OCB cells are used and, in the method, after all pixels are made to be transferred to bend orientation by repeatingly performing a process applying an AC voltage on which a bias voltage is superposed between electrodes 22 and pixel electrodes 23 and a process applying a zero voltage or a low voltage between the electrodes 22 and 23 alternately at a stage before the normal display operation is started, the display device is made to move to the normal display operation. |
