A piercing element (4) projects from the base body for pricking skin of a patient. A capillary structure (5) transports a sample of the bodily fluid from the piercing element to the test region. The piercing element and the test region are arranged laterally offset from each other when viewed from top on the upper side. The capillary structure has a section that laterally transports liquid.
